The only program of its kind in the region
UCC's School of Chiropractic holds a distinction no other program on this list can claim: it's the first, and so far only, Doctor of Chiropractic program in Puerto Rico or the broader Caribbean. For students who want to train and, potentially, practice in Puerto Rico, UCC is currently the sole CCE-accredited option in the territory.
What UCC's own handbook says about the boards
UCC's DCP Student Promotion Committees Handbook sets two clear checkpoints tied to the NBCE: Part I must be taken before a student starts third-year classes, and passing Part II is a graduation requirement. That's a narrower published timeline than some mainland schools offer, but it gives you two firm markers to plan around: get Part I done before year three begins, and treat Part II as a graduation gate, not an optional milestone.
A US territory, under the same national framework
Puerto Rico is a US territory, and the NBCE's exams work the same way there as anywhere else in the country: all 50 states either accept or require Parts I-IV for licensure, and Puerto Rico's own licensing process runs on that same national foundation. That means UCC students preparing for Part I, Part II, Part III, and Part IV are studying the identical exam content, format, and scoring scale (125-800, passing score 375) as every other CCE-accredited program on this list. Part IV is now held only at the NBCE's Assessment Center in Greeley, Colorado, which means UCC students should plan mainland travel well before their target testing window opens.
